ハイオク仕様にレギュラーを入れるとどうなるか？

「ハイオク仕様車はハイオクレベルのオクタン価で性能が100%発揮出来る様に設計されています。レギュラーを使用した場合、エンジンを損傷する等の不具合は発生しませんが、エンジンの出力低下や燃費の低減など懸念されますので是非ハイオクガソリンの使用をお勧めします。」

そう、あくまでも一般大衆車のノーマルをメインにしているディーラーの解答です。そうなんです！ノーマルをベースにしているからこの回答で正解なのです。
チューニングされている車の場合、このような解答は出来ません。ノーマルの車の場合かなり安全マージンを取ったセッティングになっていますのでハイオクガソリンがレギュラーガソリンになったとしても壊れることはほとんどありません。上記のように性能が100％発揮されなくなる位で済みますが、チューニングカーの場合は最悪エンジンが壊れます。チューニングカーのほとんどはハイオクガソリンをベースにCPUなどを書き換えています。ノーマルCPUの安全マージンを削っていくわけですからオクタン価の違いでノッキングが起こる可能性が出てくるのです。高出力のエンジンの場合、高い負荷状態のときにノッキングが発生しますと最悪エンジンブローとなる可能性があるわけです。ですのでCPUを交換している車などは必ずハイオク指定になってきます。ロータリーエンジンは特にこうしたノッキングなどには注意しなければいけません。
ノッキングは様々な原因で起こりますが、ノッキングの仕組みまでは以外に知られていませんね。
ノッキングは、まずスパークプラグで点火された燃焼ガスが燃焼室内を広がっていきます。広がっていく燃焼ガスの先には未燃焼ガスがあり、この未燃焼ガスはどんどん隅に追いやられます。
しかしその未燃焼ガスは次第に高温高圧になっていき、燃焼室壁などの高温部にふれ、自然発火し、そこからも燃焼ガスが発生します。
この２つの燃焼ガスがぶつかり、高圧振動を起こすことによってノッキング特有の「キンキン」音がします。この現象が強ければ強いほど、ピストンに損傷を与えたり焼き付けを起こしてエンジンブローとなります。ノッキングの回避手段としては、点火時期の遅角化、アンチノック性の高い燃料の使用、燃焼室形状の最適化などが挙げられます。アンチノック性の高い燃料とはここではハイオクを示しますが、ハイオクはレギュラーに比べると着火しにくいのがハイオクの特徴です。
着火しにくいと本末転倒のような気がしますが、パワーを出すためにはギリギリのセッティング（高ブースト・高圧縮等）を出しますが、このような状況で自然着火してしまうと、即ブローになりかねないため、着火しにくいハイオクを使用するのです。
ですから当店では「間違ってもレギュラーは入れないで下さい」と言っています。
ちなみにターボ無しのツインカムエンジンでハイオクとレギュラーを入れ分けて一度試したことがあったんだけど最終的には燃費が良くなった分金銭的には変わらなかった記憶があります。もう10年くらい前の話だから今のエンジンでどうか？はわかりませんが・・・・・・・・
